To cool off in the summer when its hot (since I have no A/C) I either:

1. Go to the Y to go swimming, they're 30 seconds from my front door.

2. Go to my parents to swim (but they're 20 minutes from my front door)

3. Just got an elephant pool where the elephant nose sprays water. I hope to hook that up this week! It's a PURPLE elephant too! Hear that Patty? It's PURPLE!!!

We are lucky to have AC in our house and the new house has a HUGE unit that works very well....whew.
The kids love to go through the misting hose and I will put it under the trampoline to keep them cool while jumping...also makes a really slick surface to jump on. And my all time fav drink is Sugar Free Pink Lemonade which is nice and refreshing and cools ya off.

To cool off in the summer I turn on the a/c and proceed to knit socks! Or we all head to the city pool, 5 minutes away.

and I forgot! The best place to be is the HOCKEY RINK!!! But alas, we are off this week, so I'll have to wait another week!

well, putting a/c's and yard pools aside, my favourite way to cool off is some light cotton or hemp stitchery along with a wickedly cool daiqueri! yurm!

To cool off in the summer when it's hot, we usually would hang out under the fan (no A/C), eat popsicles and become lumps. Recently my lumpness includes very slow knitting, just because :)

Now, we have a smallish pool in the backyard, and it's mostly shaded, so the water stays shockingly cold all day, even in 99 degree temps, so we go back there and chill in the pool to cool off. Hooray for cold water!

Get out on the SeaDoo and drive at 7200 RPM's across the lake, I generate enough breeze to cool off. If the water is rough, I can jump the waves and splash around. When I've had enough of that - we putter over to "picnic point" (a drop off that goes from 5" to 30' in about six feet). We float in water up to our necks. Of course, we have to be at the cabin to do all that. Otherwise, AC all the way baby - or go to a movie.

Always gallons of plain black iced tea! But in addition to that I am very greatful to have AC here in the Mid-West, having grown up in the desert with a swamp cooler or with mountains ten minutes from my door.
About now, I would really love to have the mountains to escape to!

I cool off in the summer by staying indoors in the A/C. If that doesn't work, I go outside and spray myself with the hose or have a waterfight with my boyfriend! This weekend, I'll likely be cooling off on a boat with my family! Woo - hoo!

Like most of you, when it's as hot as it has been lately, we try to remain housebound. We just have one little window air conditioner, but if we close off the hall door the living room becomes a nice, cool oasis. We also make lots of chilled drinks.

To get away, we are about 20 minutes from the beach and even when it's swelteringly hot, you get a nice breeze on the water. Mmmm. I wish I could be at the beach and not working right about now! :)

To cool off I put on my muumuu, sit in front of the A/C with a cold compress on my head, put my feet in a bucket of ice cold water and drink iced tea!! If I get sick of that (or feel I'm looking too foolish) I jump in the pool, go to the beach in the evening or see a movie! :O)
